Conflict Minerals Reporting Template Cmrt Version 622

New Conflict Minerals Reporting Template Released

Version 6.22 of the CMRT now available for download

The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has released an updated Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT). The template can now be downloaded from the RMI website.

The CMRT is a free standardized reporting template that facilitates the collection of sourcing and other information on tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (3TG) used in products. The template is designed to help companies comply with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which requires companies to report on the use of conflict minerals in their products. This has also been adopted by the EU. The purpose of this document is to collect sourcing information on tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold used in products.

The new version of the CMRT includes a number of updates and improvements, including:

  • Updated definitions of conflict minerals and conflict-affected areas
  • New guidance on how to identify suppliers of conflict minerals
  • Streamlined reporting process
  • Improved data quality

The RMI encourages all companies that use 3TG in their products to use the CMRT. The template is free to download and use, and it can help companies comply with the Dodd-Frank Act and other relevant regulations. The CMRT was created by the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative and is designed to follow the IPC-1755 Conflict Minerals Data Exchange Standard. The CMRT is a standardized template for gathering supplier data on conflict minerals otherwise known as 3TG.
